Fire Cider and Lacto-Fermented Pickle Demonstration with Farmer Doug

Workshop Size - 12 people

Registration Closes - Friday, Saturday 23rd

Douglass DeCandia is a local farmer who works with the Food Bank for Westchester, to grow natural food for families experiencing food insecurity and provide educational opportunities around natural food and farming to the public, in order to address root causes to food insecurity and malnutrition.

Doug will be leading a workshop about the use of herbs and other plants to make natural remedies and probiotics, specifically, demonstrate making "Fire Cider" and Lacto-Fermented Pickles. In addition, we will make time and space for everyone willing to share remedies, practices, etc. that have been handed down to them from their elders or other loved ones.

Fire Cider is a popular herbal folk remedy. The tasty combination of vinegar infused with herbs is an especially pleasant and easy way to boost natural health processes, stimulate digestion, and get you nice and warmed up on cold days.

Come learn how to make your own Fire Cider at home with our very own Farmer Doug! You’ll thank us later!
