Practicing Creative Confidence w/Needle Felting

Practicing Creative Confidence w/Needle Felting

Workshop Size: 8 people

Registration Closes: Tuesday, June 12th

This workshop is for first timers and past attendees who want more creativity in their life. Join me at Daydreamer Studio for a workshop combining needle felting with self-
development, evolution, and empowerment.

Needle felting is one of the oldest of the textile or fiber arts. It is still a way of life in
Central Asia and used to produce tents (yurts), clothing and rugs. Needle felting
employs a barbed or notched needle to tangle the individual fibers together to form a flat
piece of art or a 3D sculpture.

Expressing Creativity is something we are all meant to do in life, yet so many of us
are held back by fear and insecurity. We have thoughts like, “I’m not good enough,
therefore I shouldn’t even try”; “if I make something, I’ll be criticized”; “someone else
already did it, so what’s the point”; and on and on. Being creative is a fundamental part
of happiness. Being creative is self-care. It promotes balance, self-confidence, and
connection to others.

This workshop will help you to let go of negative thoughts that keep you artistically
stagnant. You can purchase felting material from us or bring your own.
I am a fiber artist and a Licensed Clinical Social worker with a private practice in
Katonah, NY. I have over 15 years of experience with helping clients to live happier,
more effective, calmer, confident lives. Here is a link to my psychotherapy practice on Psychology Today: http://tinyirl.com/jjs5nfm

Tie One On Part Two: Ombre Dip Dye Macrame Wall Hanging

Registration Closes: Tuesday, June 5th

Chris Eckler’s first love, next to her husband, of course, is Art - the creation, the sharing, the appreciation. A local Art teacher, big-time nature lover, yoga enthusiast, avid gardener, talented home cook and self-proclaimed Pinterest addict, Chris’ friends say she “rivals Martha Stewart”. Finding inspiration at every turn, she’s left with so many ideas and not enough time in the day.  As a result, you’ll find Chris working on multiple and varied projects, both indoors and out. To say she’s a jack (or Jill) of all trades would be misleading since she surely is a master of some.

Join us for yet another cool macrame project and a little Vino. You’ll find that tying knots is strangely relaxing! Participants will create a striking feature for any wall in this Bohemian chic ombre dip dye macramé wall hanging workshop. All materials included. Appropriate for all skill levels.

Holistic Parenting - Empowering Parents of Children w/Special Needs

Seminar Size: 20 attendees

Registration ends: Thursday, May 3rd

Often as parents, we come face to face with the question “What’s wrong with my child?” Our kids are labeled, evaluated, graded, scolded, disciplined, criticized so much that sometimes all we can see are the negatives.

In this interactive workshop series, The Special Needs Coach, Jaime Roche, MSW will help parents see their children in a new light with a greater understanding of their positive potential. Looking at our children from a strengths perspective we will ask questions like “What’s right with my child?” “What are my child’s strengths?” “What is my child’s true nature?” and “How can I help my child become his or her best self?”

Drawing from the work of internationally recognized Developmental Pediatrician Dr. Stephen Cowan, founder of Tournesol Kids and author of Fire Child Water Child,  parents will discover their child’s “type,” nature, dominant characteristics, and strengths, based on the ancient Chinese wisdom tradition of the five elements. We will also discuss and learn a variety of easy to incorporate tools and practices for helping each of our children flourish.

Jaime Roche, MSW is a clinically trained social worker and holistic parent coach.
